Why does India need to have dry days at all? If I feel like raising a toast to those responsible for making India a sovereign and socialist republic on the Republic Day I can't. Because it's a dry day. Why can't we celebrate days that are so important to our country by boozing? It's very much a part of every other celebration. With due respect to teetotallers.
Aren't we free to celebrate the way we feel like?
The sad part of the story is that booze is available, albeit in the grey market, at a higher rate. So, basically these days are a boon in disguise for the liquor sellers. So, dry days aren't so dry.
India has come of age and it's time for the government to understand that Indians are responsible and have the right to live life and enjoy on their own terms.
